I’m doing it again- raiding my closet. At the end of each season, I find myself itching for new clothes, preferably styles that are more geared toward the next season. Does anyone else do that? In this case, I really, really want to buy a whole new Spring wardrobe but my dilemma is that as a one-income household in this very expensive city, I can’t bring myself to spend the cash. Plus, it’s still freezing outside so I can’t even wear them yet! Instead, I reached for my go-to sweater, a beautiful rosey-blush colored piece I purchased from Madewell earlier this winter. Since then, I’ve been wearing it weekly.
Still craving that Spring touch, I rifled through some tanks I’ve held onto, even though they’re not quite compatible with chasing toddlers. The necklines are low and when I bend over, everything is on display. These are the tanks that are saved specifically for adult outings or times when I won’t be essentially rolling on the ground with kids. I chose a really pretty floral tank that I bought years ago at Express. The colors complimented the sweater perfectly and it quenched my craving for a Spring pop. Paired with some Gap Factory skinnies and my favorite Aldo wedge booties, I created a really cute and affordable outfit for the day!
I have to admit, I’m an accessory junkie (mostly jewelry accessories) and love to layer bracelets, necklaces, rings, you name it. I added a delicate lariat style necklace from Anthropologie and layered some bracelets gifted to me around my watch.
I have a few expensive pieces of jewelry and accessories that I either save up for or receive as gifts for holidays/birthdays. Other than that, most of my pieces are from popular clothing stores or etsy! I’ll do another post about saving money on jewelry soon!
How do you budget for your wardrobe? What are your “looks for less?” I’d love to hear your tips and tricks!
Happy Almost End of Winter!
